Malabrigo - Caracol

Malabrigo – Caracol is a beautiful Plied, thick and thin yarn, 16ply Super Bulky weight, 100% Superwash Merino Wool.

Caracol is a truly unique yarn! We start with a bulky thick-and-thin single made of our delightfully soft superwash merino wool, and then we criss-cross it with a binder thread (either black or white.) Then the yarn is dyed one of our signature kettle-dyed colourways, and: poof! Something unlike any yarn we’ve made before, inspired by a particular style of hand-spun yarn. Caracol knits up into a cozy, fluffy fabric with a ton of texture and visual interest. Simple stitch patterns really let it sing!

Great for: Warm winter accessories, big cozy afghans, and a stockinette that’s far from boring.

Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project since each bag is a different dye lot, and skeins may vary from bag to bag. Skeins may vary one from the other even within the same bag. To ensure random colour distribution, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball.

A note from Malabrigo Yarns – When they dye their yarns, the same formula is used each time but every batch of yarn is assigned a different dye lot number. The differences from one dye lot to another can be very subtle, or extremely noticeable, specially on variegated yarns.
